Remote conveyor monitoring with iNut — speed, vibration & bearing temperature

Give your conveyor line a set of "senses": iNut measures speed, vibration and bearing temperature in real time, automatically stops when thresholds are exceeded, and sends instant alerts via Email/Telegram — catching problems the moment they start, before a belt tears or a motor burns out.

Early fault detection — fewer sudden shutdowns, longer equipment lifespan.

Conveyors are the "bloodstream" of a factory: one line stopping suddenly brings the whole production chain to a halt. Yet most plants still monitor manually — workers walk the line roller by roller, press a hand on the bearing housing to guess the heat, listen for strange noises to guess the problem. This approach is dangerous, inconsistent, and not real-time: by the time you smell burning or hear a screech, the damage has already gone too far, leading to unplanned downtime, damage spreading to the motor, and tons of material jammed on the line.

Remote conveyor monitoring with iNut flips this reactive posture: sensors replace the operator's hands and ears, speed–vibration–temperature data streams in continuously, and the system automatically stops and alerts the moment something is off. No climbing, no night shifts on standby, no guessing.

Measurement — speed, vibration and bearing temperature

Three metrics reveal the "health" of a conveyor line. Speed & encoder readings show whether the belt is slipping, losing load, or running out of sync. Vibration sensors catch bearing wear, shaft misalignment, and roller imbalance early — things the human ear only picks up when it's already too late. Bearing and motor temperature flags abnormal friction and overheating risk. iNut brings all three together in one place, continuously, without missing a beat.

Wireless connectivity — covering long lines

Conveyors often stretch for tens or hundreds of meters — running signal cable to every roller is expensive and prone to breaks. iNut RS485 / WiFi Mesh transmits data wirelessly; nodes automatically chain together into a mesh that covers the whole line. In mines, coal yards, or outdoor lines with no grid power, nodes run on solar power — install once and the data keeps flowing on its own.

Automatic stop when thresholds are exceeded

An alert alone isn't enough — with mechanical faults, a few seconds of reaction time can be the line between "replace one bearing" and "burn out the whole motor". Set a threshold once: when vibration exceeds the limit or bearing temperature hits the ceiling, iNut PC at the edge layer runs the logic and automatically trips a relay to stop the conveyor, while also reducing load or switching on a cooling fan. The closed loop of measure → compare to threshold → act runs right on site, independent of any outside network.

Instant alerts via Email & Telegram

Alongside the automatic stop, iNut pushes an alert to the right people within seconds: which node, which metric, by how much, at what time — sent straight to the Email and Telegram of technicians and shift supervisors. Even where a plant only has 4G coverage, the iNut PC uplink still gets the message through. No more finding out at the morning shift that line 3 jammed overnight.

Real-time monitoring — SCADA dashboard & app

The whole line shows up on one screen: a conveyor layout, real-time speed–vibration–temperature charts, and history to spot early "warning trends". iNut Platform (self-hosted cloud) builds a SCADA dashboard for the control room, while the iNut app puts that same picture on the supervisor's phone — view data, change thresholds, and acknowledge alerts from anywhere. Legacy industrial data can also be connected via iNut OPC (OPC UA/Modbus) and stored long-term with iNut Datalogger.

Built tough for harsh environments — dust, vibration, outdoors

Conveyors rarely sit in clean environments: coal yards, quarries, ports, cement lines — full of dust, heavy vibration, and wide temperature swings. iNut hardware is built to thrive there: wireless nodes withstand vibration, run on solar power, and use 4G uplink where there's no wired network; the industrial-standard iNut OPC lets you integrate with existing PLC/SCADA without replacing the whole system. Install once, run for years — operators just watch the screen.

What do you get from remote conveyor monitoring?

Early fault detection

Early abnormal vibration and temperature are caught from the start — fixed while small, before damage spreads.

Fewer sudden shutdowns

Condition-based maintenance instead of run-to-failure — fewer unplanned line interruptions.

Safer for people

No more climbing or hand-testing for heat — the system measures itself and stops automatically when it's dangerous.

Longer equipment lifespan

Bearings, motors, and rollers get serviced at the right time — replacement and inventory costs drop noticeably.

The rollers still turn like every day — except now they know how to "speak up"

A bearing on the verge of failure always gives warning: vibration creeps up, temperature ticks upward bit by bit. The only question is whether anyone is listening at the right moment. Remote conveyor monitoring with iNut turns those faint signals into clear numbers, timely alerts, and automatic action — stopping a problem while it's still just a small oscillation.

What rhythm is your conveyor line vibrating at right now — and are you listening to it?
