By the time someone happens to notice, water has already soaked into the raised floor of the server room, chemicals have corroded equipment, or the basement has flooded several centimeters deep. Manual shift-based inspection is both labor-intensive and always too late — because incidents don't wait for the next patrol round.

Leak sensing cable — detects the instant it gets wet
At the heart of the solution is the leak sensing cable (leak detection cable), routed along pipe runs, under air conditioners, at the base of rack cabinets, around chemical tanks, or in floor drains. When liquid touches the cable, the resistance between its two conductive cores changes, and iNut detects it within seconds. Alongside the linear sensing cable, the system also supports spot detectors placed at the lowest catch basins, plus dedicated sensors for each liquid type: clean water, condensate, acid-base, oil, and solvents. Everything is normalized to a single digital signal standard and streamed to iNut in real time.
Wireless connectivity — full coverage without running cables
Many leak points sit where running cable is impractical: deep basements, outdoor tanks, catch basins scattered around a factory. iNut RS485 / WiFi Mesh solves this by letting nodes bridge signal for one another — each node both measures and relays data from other nodes, gradually extending coverage without needing a central cable backbone. Outdoor nodes run on solar power, so once installed, data flows in on its own. For industrial-standard integration, iNut OPC (OPC UA / Modbus / XML-DA) plugs straight into existing PLCs and DCS; for distances spanning kilometers, LoRa takes over.

Automatic valve shut-off & pump stop by threshold
Detection alone isn't enough — what determines the damage is action in the first few seconds. iNut PC runs the logic locally at the edge: the moment the cable signals wet, it immediately closes the electric valve on the pipeline, shuts off the pump, switches on the sump pump at the catch basin, and sounds the area alarm — all via relay, with no dependence on the internet. Because the logic runs at the edge, the valve still closes on time even if the cloud connection is lost. This is the same closed-loop measure → compare to threshold → control cycle iNut already runs for irrigation and climate control — now applied to leak prevention.
Instant alerts — Email & Telegram, with location
An incident at midnight only matters if the right person finds out immediately. iNut pushes multi-channel alerts: Telegram messages and Email to the on-duty team, with clear content — what liquid, which location (which meter mark along the cable run), what time, and whether the valve has already shut off. Alerts are tiered: a small leak sends a gentle reminder, a fast-rising flood triggers an urgent alert that repeats until someone acknowledges it. Every event is logged via iNut Datalogger for traceability and as insurance evidence later on.
Real-time monitoring — an app in your pocket, SCADA on the wall
The entire sensing line is shown visually: green for normal points, yellow for points just starting to dampen, red for leaking points. On the iNut app, on-duty staff can view status, change thresholds, acknowledge incidents, and switch equipment on/off remotely. In the control room, iNut Platform (self-hosted cloud) builds a SCADA dashboard overlaying the sensors on the factory floor plan, along with moisture trend charts to spot a "chronic leak point" before it turns into a major incident.
