Data Center Room Monitoring with iNut — temperature, humidity, power, leaks & doors 24/7

Bring the entire server room onto one screen: iNut measures temperature & humidity at every rack row, monitors power – UPS – load current, detects water leaks and door access in real time, then automatically sheds load, turns on fans and sends instant alerts whenever an issue occurs.

Stop downtime, keep temperature stable, know about issues before they happen — from a single rack cabinet to an entire server room.

Data Center Room Monitoring with iNut

The Data Center room is a place that cannot afford to stop. Yet common practice is still manual and fragmented: a wall-mounted thermometer, a few power meters read by eye, an on-duty staffer doing rounds and logging readings every few hours. By the time the air conditioner fails at midnight, an under-floor water pipe leaks, or an electrical cabinet quietly overloads — you often only find out after the servers have crashed, data has been disrupted, and the damage is already done.

Data Center monitoring doesn't need to be complicated — it needs to measure continuously, log everything, and alert before anything crosses a threshold. iNut brings exactly that toolset into the server room: dedicated sensors, wireless transmission, on-site edge computing, automatic threshold-based responses, and alerts pushed straight to the technician's phone.

Measurement — temperature, humidity, power, leaks, doors

Every accurate alert starts with accurate data. iNut installs dedicated sensors at every hot spot in the server room: temperature & humidity per rack row (hot aisle / cold aisle), voltage – load current – UPS/PDU status, water-leak sensing cable running along the raised floor, magnetic door sensors for the room and rack cabinets, plus smoke/motion sensors when needed — all consolidated in one place, updated in real time.

Wireless connectivity — no cabling across the room

Server rooms are already packed with racks and cables; running extra signal wire to every measurement point is a nightmare. iNut RS485 reads power meters, PDUs and BMS directly over Modbus, while iNut WiFi Mesh transmits data wirelessly between racks and back to the gateway — each node both receives and relays, covering an entire large room without rewiring the infrastructure. For outdoor measurement points (chillers, generator fuel tanks), nodes can run on solar power.

Automatic threshold response — load shedding, fans, valve shutoff

iNut doesn't just measure — it acts. Set a threshold once: hot-aisle temperature exceeds the limit → automatically turns on exhaust fans / backup cooling; a water leak is detected → closes the valve and cuts power to the area; an electrical cabinet overloads → trips the relay on non-essential branches to protect critical loads. The iNut Muro micro-climate control solution keeps the server room's temperature and humidity within a safe range, self-balancing without an operator having to press a button.

Instant alerts — Email & Telegram, even over 4G

At the edge layer, iNut PC collects data from every node, runs logic on-site and pushes alerts via Email/Telegram the moment any point crosses a threshold — abnormal temperature rise, mains power loss triggering UPS switchover, water leaks, rack doors opened after hours. If the main network fails, iNut PC still uplinks over 4G so alerts are never blocked. Technicians receive the message on their phone and can respond before the incident escalates into downtime.

Real-time monitoring — SCADA dashboard & iNut app

The entire server room appears on one screen: rack layout, real-time temperature – humidity – power charts, event logs and alerts. iNut Platform (self-hosted cloud) builds a SCADA dashboard that runs on your own infrastructure, while iNut Datalogger stores history for traceability and reporting. Thanks to the open iNut OPC (OPC UA / Modbus / XML-DA) standard, data plugs straight into your existing BMS/DCIM. Technicians can view and control remotely anytime via the iNut app.

Field deployment — lean, zero downtime

Installation doesn't mean tearing anything down: sensors mount onto existing racks, wireless nodes stick onto cabinet panels, iNut RS485 reads directly from meters and controllers already running over Modbus/OPC — no need to shut down the server room. iNut PC diagnoses each device, spots disconnected points, and supports remote configuration, letting the operations team scale from a few racks to an entire data center without breaking the system.

What do you gain from Data Center monitoring?

Stop downtime

Know before temperature rises, power flickers, or water leaks — act early and avoid server crashes.

Keep temperature stable

Self-balancing micro-climate control by threshold, extending equipment lifespan and saving cooling energy.

Instant response

Email/Telegram alerts reach the right person, even over 4G — no longer dependent on someone doing rounds.

Transparency & traceability

Complete logs & history for SLA reporting, audits, and root-cause investigation.

Incidents don't give warning — but data does

Temperature creeping up degree by degree, load current gradually tightening, a drop of water pooling under the raised floor — every major incident begins with small signals. Data Center monitoring with iNut, in the end, is about turning those small signals into timely action, so the server room runs smoothly even when no one is watching.

What signal is your server room sending right now — that no one has heard yet?
